Total Recoil
In Total Recoil, the kickback of your weapon is the only way you move. You are dropped into an arena filled with waves of hostile robots, but you don’t have standard movement controls. Instead, every time you fire your gun, the blast sends your character flying in the opposite direction. You have to carefully time your shots to simultaneously deal damage to the incoming machines and maneuver yourself out of harm’s way.
The pacing is fast and unforgiving, turning what would be a standard wave shooter into a physics-based juggling act. Managing the cooldown of your weapon while staying airborne or dodging enemy projectiles requires quick thinking. It is a fantastic loop of chaotic action where your attacks double as your evasive maneuvers.
Controls
- Arrow Keys / A and D: Fire your weapon (which pushes you in the opposite direction).
- Mobile/Tablet: Tap the left or right side of the screen to shoot and move.
Tips for Survival
- Don’t spam shots: Firing too rapidly can throw you directly into a swarm of enemies or hazards. Aim intentionally so your recoil carries you to a safe spot.
- Stay central: Try to bounce around the middle of the arena. Getting pinned against the edges makes it much harder to dodge incoming fire.
- Learn the weapon arcs: Since firing is your only mobility, pay attention to how far each blast pushes you so you can accurately control your distance.
