Tank Trouble
Tank Trouble is a fast-paced local multiplayer game that turns a simple maze into a chaotic battlefield. You command a small tank in a top-down arena where every shot you fire bounces off the walls. This creates frantic standoffs where a poorly aimed bullet is just as likely to destroy your own tank as it is to hit your opponents. The rounds are lightning-fast, demanding quick reflexes and even quicker geometry calculations as you try to trap the other players in crossfire.
The game truly shines when playing with friends on the same keyboard, supporting up to three players at once. Throughout each round, various power-up crates spawn in the maze, swapping your standard cannon for devastating weapons like a piercing laser, a scatter bomb, or a homing missile. Since there is no scrolling or complex progression, the focus is purely on outmaneuvering and out-predicting the other tanks before you accidentally corner yourself.
Controls
Tank Trouble can be played solo against Laika (the AI dog), or locally with up to three players sharing a keyboard.
- Player 1: Use the Arrow Keys to drive and steer, and M to fire.
- Player 2: Use E, S, D, F to drive and steer, and Q to fire.
- Player 3: Use the Mouse to steer, and Left Click to drive and fire.
Tips that actually help
- Count your bounces: Standard bullets bounce off walls. Use this to hit opponents around corners without exposing yourself to their direct line of sight.
- Respect the laser: The laser power-up shows you exactly where it will fire, but it also paints a line for everyone else to see. You only get one shot, so make sure they can’t dodge it.
- Keep moving: Staying in a dead end makes you an easy target for bouncing shells and homing missiles. Stay near intersections so you always have an escape route.
