Vex Challenges
Vex Challenges takes the smooth, high-speed stickman platforming of the main Vex series and compresses it into bite-sized speedruns. Instead of sprawling acts with multiple checkpoints, every level here is a short, intense sprint against a strict 10-second timer. The goal is simple: survive the spikes, lasers, and spinning blades to reach the exit portal before time runs out, ideally grabbing the three stars scattered along the path.
The pace is relentless, but restarting is instant. A session feels like a rapid-fire sequence of trial, error, and execution. Because the levels are so short, you can easily memorize the layout and optimize your route, shaving off fractions of a second with better wall jumps and perfectly timed slides. It runs directly in the browser with nothing to install, making it easy to jump in for just a few minutes.
Controls
- Move: Left and Right arrow keys or A and D
- Jump: Up arrow key or W
- Slide: Down arrow key or S while moving
Tips for Speedrunning
- Slide to maintain momentum: Sliding under low overhangs doesn’t just keep you alive; it’s often faster than running.
- Buffer your wall jumps: You can chain wall jumps together rapidly to climb vertical shafts much faster than standard jumping.
- Ignore stars on the first run: If a level is giving you trouble, focus solely on reaching the exit first to learn the layout, then replay it for the stars once you know where the traps are.
