Australian Patience brings a fresh twist to classic solitaire by mixing the layout of Klondike with the flexible card movement of Yukon. You start with seven tableau columns, each containing four face-up cards, and a stockpile to draw from. The goal is familiar—move all fifty-two cards into four foundation piles, building upward from Ace to King by suit.

What makes this variant stand out is how you maneuver cards on the board. While you must build the tableau columns downward by the same suit, you are free to pick up any face-up card and move it, bringing all the cards resting on top of it along for the ride. This freedom opens up deep strategic possibilities, letting you access buried cards and clear columns for your Kings.

Controls

Use your mouse or touchscreen to play. Click and drag a card, or a stack of cards, to move them between the tableau columns or up to the foundation piles. Click the stockpile to draw a new card into the waste pile.

Tips for Winning

  • Examine the stacks: Because you can move any face-up card regardless of the sequence below it, look for ways to transfer large, messy stacks just to free up the specific cards you need.
  • Prioritize empty spaces: Only Kings can be placed in an empty tableau column. Clearing a space should be a top priority so you can maneuver a King and its entire stack out of the way.
  • Save the stockpile: Rely on the stockpile only when you have exhausted all possible moves on the tableau. You only get to cycle through the stockpile once, so make every draw count.
