Microwars is a fast-paced real-time strategy game where you command a swarm of microscopic cells fighting for total control of the map. Every level starts you off with a single base, and you must rapidly expand by sending your units to capture neutral and enemy cells. As you take over more territory, your forces multiply, allowing you to launch massive, overwhelming attacks against the opposing colors.
The gameplay is all about speed and tactical decision-making. You have to constantly weigh whether to reinforce your frontline bases, snatch up unclaimed grey cells to boost your production, or launch a direct assault on the enemy’s headquarters. Because the enemy AI is aggressive and expands just as quickly, hesitating for even a second can cost you the match.
Controls
The controls are entirely mouse-based:
- Click and drag: Select your base and drag to an enemy or neutral base to send half your units to attack it.
- Select multiple bases: Click and drag across several of your own bases, then target an enemy to launch a coordinated strike.
Tips that actually help
- Grab neutral cells first: Always prioritize capturing the grey neutral bases at the start of a level. They are defenseless and will immediately start generating new units for your side.
- Cut off enemy expansion: Watch where the AI sends its units. If they are attacking a neutral cell, wait for them to weaken it, then swoop in with your own forces right before they capture it to steal it for yourself.
- Rally your troops: Don’t just send units straight into heavy enemy defenses. Pool your units into a single frontline base first, then launch one massive attack to instantly crush their defenses.
