Sling Drift
Sling Drift is a fast-paced hypercasual racing game where timing is everything. You control a car driving endlessly along a winding track, but you can’t steer normally. Instead, you have to hook onto poles at every corner and swing your car around the bend. Release at the exact right moment to shoot straight down the next path. It’s a true one-button experience that gets steadily faster and more demanding as you survive longer.
The core loop is simple to understand but incredibly tough to master. The longer you hold the button, the sharper your car turns around the pivot point. Let go too early, and you’ll fly off the outside of the track. Hold on too long, and you’ll crash into the inside wall. Collecting gems along the track lets you unlock different cars, adding a nice progression to the purely skill-based gameplay.
Controls
This is a one-button game. Use any of the following to hook onto a corner and drift:
- Spacebar (PC)
- Left Mouse Click (PC)
- Tap and hold the screen (Mobile/Tablet)
Release to stop drifting and drive straight.
Tips for Surviving Longer
- Look ahead: Don’t just watch your car. Keep your eyes on the next corner so you know whether it’s a quick tap or a long swing.
- Prioritize survival over gems: It’s tempting to adjust your drift to grab every diamond on the track, but a safe exit angle is much more important. Miss the gem if it means staying on the road.
- Find the rhythm: As the game speeds up, you’ll need to rely more on the rhythm of the corners rather than just visual reaction time.
