Cat Trap
Cat Trap is a turn-based puzzle game where your only goal is to stop a cat from escaping off the edge of a hexagonal board. The cat is surprisingly smart and will always evaluate the shortest path to freedom. Every time you click a tile to darken it and build a wall, the cat moves one space closer to the edge.
It is a pure game of foresight and area control. If you try to build a wall right next to the cat, it will quickly slip past you and escape. The real trick is to build a wide perimeter early and gradually close the net before the cat realizes it is completely cornered.
Controls
Click or tap any light hexagon to turn it dark and block the cat’s path. The cat will automatically move one space after your turn.
Tips that actually help
- Build far away first: Do not click directly next to the cat. It will just walk around your block. Instead, look closer to the edges of the board and build a wide ring.
- Watch the shortest path: The cat always heads for the closest unblocked exit. Use this predictability to herd it into a corner you have already reinforced.
- Use the starting blocks: The board starts with a few random darkened tiles. Connect your new walls to these existing blocks to save turns and close the net faster.
