BlockudokuTest your spatial skills in Blockudoku. Arrange blocks on a 9x9 grid to clear rows, columns, and 3x3 squares in this relaxing but challenging puzzle game.
Blockudoku
Blockudoku is a clean and relaxing puzzle game that merges the geometric satisfaction of classic block-matching with the spatial logic of Sudoku. You are presented with a 9×9 grid and a continuous stream of block shapes served in sets of three. Your goal is to carefully place these pieces on the board to form full horizontal lines, vertical columns, or 3×3 square subgrids. The game runs directly in your web browser with no download or setup required, making it easy to start a quick session anytime.
As you place blocks and clear sections, you earn points and free up valuable space on the grid. Unlike fast-paced arcade puzzles, there is no ticking clock here, allowing you to focus purely on strategy. However, the challenge builds steadily as the board fills up. Because pieces cannot be rotated, a few careless placements can quickly leave you with no valid moves for your remaining blocks, bringing your run to an end.
Controls
Blockudoku features straightforward drag-and-drop controls that work on any device:
- Mouse (PC/Desktop): Left-click and drag a block shape from the bottom tray, then release it onto your desired spot on the 9×9 grid.
- Touchscreen (Mobile/Tablet): Tap and slide a block shape with your finger to position it on the board.
Tips that actually help
- Plan in sets of three: Look at all three shapes in your tray before placing the first one. Placing a block without considering the other two often results in blocking your own moves.
- Keep the grid open: Prioritize keeping the board as empty as possible. Having open space gives you the flexibility to handle awkward, large shapes when they appear.
- Avoid single-cell gaps: Try to prevent leaving isolated, single-cell empty squares. These are extremely difficult to fill and can quickly trap you as the game progresses.
- Watch out for the corners: Corner spaces are easy to block off. Try to use them early or place L-shaped blocks there to avoid losing valuable central space.
Whether you want to wind down after a busy day or sharpen your spatial thinking, Blockudoku offers a satisfying, slow-paced challenge that keeps your mind active.
