Block The Pig
Block The Pig is a turn-based puzzle game played on a hexagonal grid where your only goal is to stop a very determined pig from escaping the board. Every turn you place a stone block on one of the hex tiles, and then the pig moves one space toward the nearest edge. If the pig reaches the outside of the grid, it escapes and you lose. If you manage to completely surround it with blocks so it has no valid moves left, you win the round.
The challenge comes from the pig’s pathfinding, which always takes the shortest route to freedom. You begin each level with a setup phase where you can place a few blocks before the pig starts moving. As you progress through the levels, the board layouts get trickier and the pig seems to get smarter, requiring you to think several moves ahead to build an inescapable trap.
Controls
The game is entirely mouse-driven. Simply click or tap on any empty hexagonal tile to place a block.
Tips that actually help
- Use the initial setup wisely: Place your first few free blocks relatively far apart in a wide arc. If you cluster them too closely, the pig will just walk around your trap.
- Build a wide perimeter: Don’t try to block the pig right next to it right away. Build a larger enclosure first, and then slowly constrict the space.
- Force it into corners: The edges of the board limit the pig’s movement options. Try to funnel it toward the natural boundaries of the grid before closing the loop.
