Fancy Pants Adventures is a classic momentum-based platformer that trades rigid jumping for fluid, parkour-style movement. You play as a stick figure in brightly colored baggy pants, exploring hand-drawn worlds filled with slopes, loops, and springboards. Instead of carefully hopping between small platforms, you spend most of your time building speed, wall-running, sliding down hills, and launching off ramps to traverse the sprawling levels.
The physics engine is what makes it stand out. Preserving your momentum is the key to reaching hidden areas and collecting squiggles. It feels almost like a skateboarding game mixed with a platformer, where carrying a fast run into a crouch turns you into a rolling ball that bowls over enemies and launches off half-pipes.
Controls
- Left/Right Arrows: Run
- S: Jump
- Down Arrow: Duck, slide, or roll (while running)
- Up Arrow: Enter doors
Tips for Momentum
- Slide to build speed: If you are running down a slope, press the Down arrow to roll. You will gain speed much faster than running normally.
- Jump out of a roll: You can jump while rolled up in a ball to carry your speed through the air, which is essential for crossing large gaps.
- Wall jumping: When you hit a curved wall at high speed, your character will naturally run up it. Press jump before you lose momentum to leap off the wall.
