Spider Solitaire
Spider Solitaire takes the familiar foundation of classic solitaire and spins it into a more complex, deeply satisfying puzzle. Instead of building alternating colors, your goal is to assemble complete descending sequences from King down to Ace within the same suit. Once a full run is built, it clears from the board, freeing up space and revealing hidden cards underneath. It is a game that rewards patience and careful planning, making it an excellent way to unwind or keep your mind sharp during a break.
The pace is entirely up to you. With multiple difficulty levels spanning from one suit to a punishing four-suit mode, you can tailor the challenge to how much focus you want to invest. A single-suit game is a breezy, relaxing sorting exercise, while taking on the four-suit challenge requires thinking several moves ahead and managing your limited open columns perfectly before drawing from the stockpile.
Controls
- PC: Left-click and hold to drag a card or a valid sequence of cards. Release to drop them onto a new column. You can also single-click a card to automatically send it to a valid destination if one exists.
- Mobile/Tablet: Tap and drag cards to move them. Tap the stockpile at the bottom right to deal a new row of cards.
Tips for Winning
- Prioritize uncovering hidden cards: Your first objective should always be to flip over face-down cards. This gives you more options and moves you closer to clearing the board.
- Protect your empty columns: An empty space is the most valuable resource in the game. Use it as a temporary holding zone to untangle mismatched suits, but try to keep it available as long as possible rather than permanently filling it with a random card.
- Build on higher cards first: Whenever you have a choice, attach a card to the highest possible sequence. Moving a 9 onto a 10 is better than moving a 3 onto a 4, because it leaves the sequence open to receive more cards for longer.
- Don’t deal too early: Only click the stockpile when you are absolutely out of productive moves. Dealing adds a new card to every column, burying your neat sequences and complicating the board.
