Among Us drops you and your crewmates onto a ship that needs constant maintenance, but there is a catch—one or more of you are impostors. As a crewmate, you run from room to room fixing wires, swiping cards, and managing ship systems before the impostors can quietly pick everyone off. Every time a body is found or an emergency meeting is called, the game shifts from a frantic task-completion race to a tense social deduction debate where anyone can lie.
The pacing swings wildly between the quiet paranoia of doing tasks alone in electrical and the loud, chaotic arguments of the voting phase. Playing as the impostor turns it into a stealth game, where you use the ship’s vent system to move unseen, sabotage the lights or oxygen to create panic, and try to build an airtight alibi when the inevitable meeting starts. It is a game built entirely around trust, deception, and reading the people you are playing with.

Tips that actually help
- Use the Admin map to track movement: The map in the Admin room does not show who is in a room, but it shows how many people are there. If you see two people in a room, then one disappears and appears somewhere else instantly, you just caught someone using a vent.
- Fake tasks accurately: If you are the impostor pretending to do a task, stand there for the right amount of time. Faking a long task like “Download Data” for only two seconds will immediately give you away to experienced players.
- The buddy system works: Sticking closely to one or two other players makes it extremely hard for an impostor to isolate you. Just make sure the person you are following is not the impostor.
This is a brilliant social game that works best when played with a group of friends on voice chat, though public lobbies offer their own chaotic charm. It runs entirely in your browser with no installation needed.
