Paper 2
In Paper 2, your goal is to conquer the arena by drawing enclosed shapes with your block. You start with a small, colored patch of territory and expand it by venturing out and looping back home. Any empty space—or even an opponent’s territory—caught inside your loop instantly turns your color. It is a fast-paced game of risk versus reward, where stretching out for a massive land grab leaves you increasingly vulnerable the further you get from safety.
The tension comes from your vulnerable trail. While you are outside your territory, your tail is exposed; if another player crashes into it, your run ends immediately and your entire empire disappears from the map. A session feels like a constant balancing act between greedily claiming huge chunks of the board and darting back to your zone to secure your gains before an opportunistic opponent cuts you off.
Controls
The game requires only a mouse or keyboard to play:
- Mouse: Move your cursor and your block will continuously move toward it.
- Keyboard: Use the W, A, S, D or Arrow Keys to change direction.
Tips for Paper 2
- Bite off small chunks: Trying to take a quarter of the map in a single loop almost always gets you killed. Make quick, short loops to grow your territory safely.
- Hug your borders: Staying close to your own color means you can duck back to safety instantly if an enemy approaches.
- Ambush other players: Watch for opponents making greedy, wide loops. If you see someone far from their base, intercept their trail for an easy elimination.
- Invade safely: When stealing someone else’s territory, you are at your most vulnerable. Only invade if the area is unguarded.
