Friday Night Funkin’ is a fast-paced rhythm and music game where you play as Boyfriend, facing off against an increasingly bizarre cast of characters in intense musical rap battles. Your ultimate goal is to hit the right notes at the right time to impress Girlfriend and survive the grueling weeks against her ex-rockstar father and other challengers.
A typical session involves picking a week and matching the directional arrows as they scroll up the screen to the beat of original electronic tracks. Missing notes drains your health bar and pushes the meter in your opponent’s favor, so you have to keep a steady rhythm and fast fingers to avoid getting mic-dropped out of the song.
Controls
- Arrow Keys or W, A, S, D: Hit the notes as they overlap with the targets at the top of the screen.

Tips that actually help
- Watch the opponent’s turn closely; they often play the exact same pattern of notes that you will need to mirror in your response.
